ISO26000 Standard What is Social Responsibility?
The May 21, 2010, in Copenhagen, Denmark, approved the final draft of ISO 26000 on Social Responsibility. This document will be ratified at the end of 2010 to become an international guide. 99 countries, 450 experts and 210 delegates to international observers and 42 liaison organizations, have developed this document to provide harmonized guidance to the world on the subject of Social Responsibility. Have participated in this process includes representatives from industry, government, workers, consumers, NGOs, and researchers and academics.
According to ISO, the new ISO26000 standard provides guidance on the basic principles of social responsibility and how to integrate socially responsible behavior in the strategies, systems, practices and business processes. In addition, the goal is that the ISO26000 standard can be used by all types of organizations interested in social responsibility.
