Carrió meetings filed with the World Bank and IDB, towards the end of the external debt and investment in Argentina

The candidate for President of the Civic Coalition, Elisa Carrio, and accompanying leaders met this afternoon with officials of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) and World Bank who discussed policy issues to end poverty, fight against insecurity and human trafficking. Also raised the need to develop programs for the parliamentary system improvements and also discussed the tax situation of Argentina.

Alongside the National Deputies were Carrio Elisa Carca and Patricia Bullrich, the Chairman of Legislators Block porteños Fernando Sánchez, President of the Civic Coalition for the province of Buenos Aires, Rep. Maricel Etchecoin Moro and former Socialist deputy and candidate for mayor of the City of Córdoba, Laura Sesma. IDB officials were led by the Executive Director for Argentina and Haiti Eugenio Diaz Bonilla and staff experts on tax policy, urban development and public safety.

Another issue discussed was that of insecurity, where Carrie and the leaders of his party called for comparative information with other countries in the region and details of programs IDB developed in Argentina and other Latin American countries.

Patricia Bullrich was responsible for explaining the proposals of the Civic Coalition and became interested in inquiring into the IDB funded programs in Latin America and public policy questions that have been successful.

Laura Sesma explained the activities of the Women's Network for Public Safety, she leads and explained the characteristics of the City of Cordoba and the need to coordinate public policy with civil society to address crime, "the only way to address the problem of insecurity is taking a multifaceted problem that requires different perspectives and strategies, and do as has been done until now is to see it only as a police problem, "Sesma said.

At the meeting, the leaders of the Civic Coalition expressed to the Bank officials order the institution to provide funding for programs to strengthen, modernize and parliamentary training, programs to combat trafficking people and development of civil society institutions.

As compared to World Bank staff leaders of the Civic Coalition argued for equality policies and presented their proposal of universal admission for children with special emphasis that is truly universal and not targeted policy encouraging ends political patronage and not reduce poverty rates.

The candidate for President of the Civic Coalition launched on Friday a U.S. tour that began in New York in a meeting with investors at the UBS Bank headquarters. Yesterday met with officials of the Organization of American States to Santiago Canton, Executive Secretary of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights in Washington. This morning we visited the Chamber of Commerce of the United States where he was received by officials of leading companies with investments in Argentina.
